Would you be interested in reading my latest book ‘Reflections: Enlightening Insights Into the Divine Mystery’? The book contains twelve contemplations on the nature, activity and purposes of God from a panentheistic perspective. Panentheism is the idea that creation is contained ‘within God’, a perspective that if true has important implications for the way we understand what it means to be human.
The book is relatively short and could easily be read with a tea or coffee one morning or evening. Yet, despite its brevity, the book offers plenty of food for thought. And because it serves as an introduction to my other work, I have made the book available for free in eBook format. To get your free copy as a PDF and ePub (these can be viewed on most eReaders, tablets, computers and smartphones) simply visit StevenColborne.com, add the eBook to your cart and use coupon code ‘RFREE’ at checkout.

I have never heard of panentheistic before. Sounds interesting. How did you come up with it?

Hey Virginia, how are things? I can’t remember how I came across the word panentheism but it literally means ‘all-in-God’ (as in, all of creation is ‘in’ God). This just made sense to me as I have for a long time believed in God’s omnipresence. I know you’re a polytheist but I assume that like me you ultimately believe in a supreme being that creates all of creation (but you are welcome to correct me if I am wrong about that). Peace be with you.

I am fine. I will have to research panentheism. I believe in Divine Multiplicity. Creation stories have many Gods doing different things. The Norse have a cow lick a giant into being. The Egyptians have several – one is Osiris using the word, the others are more x-rated. As to the source of all creation, that is a subject that Polytheists debate hotly.
