Perfect Chaos

He Is With You in the Valleys

Have you ever felt utterly helpless? Have you ever felt so consumed and burdened with your circumstances that you can see no way forward?

Sometimes, God will take you to the point of despair so that you are forced to surrender everything to Him.

In 2 Corinthians 12, we read about Paul pleading with the Lord to stop being harassed by a messenger of Satan. The Lord said to him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul then writes about the power of Christ resting on him in his weakness, and says, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Being weak makes us aware that we are dependent upon God for every blessing in our lives. In Psalm 51, David writes, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

Your moments of weakness serve to highlight God’s strength, His omnipotence, and your dependence on Him. They don’t mean He doesn’t love you.

Hebrews 13:5-6 says, ‘Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”‘

Take heart that even in your darkest moments, God is still working everything together for His glory and your good. He is with you in the valleys.

  2. What a promise from God that He will never leave us nor forsake us! It’s empowering to know that God can take our weakness and He can make it perfect with His powers. Take care!
