Mourning

I honestly thought
We were meant to be together.

We helped each other
In beautiful ways.

But the stain of your divorce
On your heart
Closed you off from the world.

I tried for years to open your heart
And I know I made a difference.
But it wasn’t enough.

I truly love you
And I want you to be happy
But the time for us
Has sadly passed.

Think of Jesus before you die.
Please, think of Jesus.

I said a prayer for you, darling.
There is always hope
Of life everlasting.
