Steven Colborne's Philosophical Theology Blog

An Opportunity to Grow in Your Knowledge and Understanding of Faith and Spirituality

Have you been feeling troubled about the state of the world and how to make sense of everything? Perhaps you ask yourself questions about the purpose of life, the purpose of creation, and how you can be happy and fulfilled. In a world of information overload, it can be difficult to know where to turn for guidance.

My name’s Steven and I’m a philosopher and author with both an academic background and a background in immersive explorations of the world’s major religions. As a teenager, I was fiercely opposed to the way capitalist greed was corrupting the world, so I formed a heavy metal band to take a message of freedom, justice, and liberation around the UK.

Following the death of my mother after a long and gruelling battle with cancer when I was 21 years old, I began to consider questions about how a human being can be healthy and happy, and this ignited my own spiritual journey, beginning with self-reflection and meditation and eventually leading me to read the sacred Scriptures of Christianity and Islam.

Now in my 40s, I have learned a great deal about the centrality of religious understanding and practice to living a meaningful and fulfilled life. I have shared my insights in more than 15 books and in 2024 I launched StevenColborne.com, a website which aims to inspire others towards a deeper understanding of the things of God, and to aid them on their own spiritual journey.
