Everlasting Life

I have been meditating on the scripture John 3:16 which says “God so loved the World, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Those two magical words, ‘everlasting life’, what does that phrase mean to you?

I believe death is a fear that hangs over all our lives, even though really it is suffering we are afraid of rather than death itself.

But what if this consciousness, this aliveness that I am experiencing, would really last forever, uninterrupted by death? That is a profound thought.

If Jesus is generous enough to bless our lives and accept us into his kingdom once our earthly lives are over, then we have nothing to fear! Except for the devil, of course, who will persistently try to interrupt God’s plans.

Have you meditated on the significance of John 3:16 in your own life?
