Sunday Summary | QOTW

Posted by

Hi friends and followers! Another week has passed and it’s time for my Sunday Summary post, where I offer a round-up of my week in blogging, some personal reflections on my life at this time, and a Question of the Week to help me get to know you all a little better.

I’m aware that last Sunday I mentioned that I would only be posting once this week, on Monday. However, due to having more time than anticipated, and also because inspiration struck, I have managed to keep to my posting schedule this week (and even threw in a Blog Spotlight post for good measure). Here’s the summary…

The Week in Review

Normally on Mondays I post a piece of music, but this week I had a theology post that I really wanted to share. The post was about a passage of Scripture in the book of Romans and how it relates to the free will debate. You can read the article, and the interesting comments, here.

On Wednesday I shared my monthly Blog Spotlight post. Every month I feature a few of the blogs that have been submitted to my ‘Promote Your Blog’ page, as a way of giving a bit of extra exposure to both new and established bloggers. You can view the post here.

I was back on Thursday with my Thursday Theology post, in which I quoted an extract from a book I’m reading about how the Bible came to be in its present form. After quoting the passage I gave a brief commentary explaining why the passage is relevant to the free will debate. You can read the post here.

On Friday I shared my Friday Philosophy post, which this week focused on Aristotle, one of the most influential of the ancient Greek philosophers. To read the post and see which of Aristotle’s big ideas I wrote about, click here.

A Few Personal Reflections

  • We’ve had a mini heatwave in the UK over the last few days, and after some very cold winter weather in recent months, the sunshine is very welcome! Ironically, I’ve barely left my flat, so haven’t really made the most of it. Must do better!
  • I now have not one, but two, very noisy neighbours – one in front of my flat and one behind. When they both play loud music simultaneously I can’t concentrate on anything much! Still, I’m counting my accommodation blessings, of which there are many πŸ™‚
  • Please know that if you’re reading this, you’re in my prayers! I’ll be spending some time in prayer this afternoon and will be sure to pray for everyone who reads Perfect Chaos. You’re also welcome to email me specific prayer requests.
  • Please note my new email address – email me any time with blog suggestions, prayer requests, feedback, or just to say hi!

Question of the Week

What’s your favourite piece of music right now?
Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Tough one. Either Red’s β€œFeed the Machine” or We As Human’s β€œTake The Bullets Away”. (Caution, listener. These are Christian Heavy Metal.)
PS: it’s warm where I live too. Been getting into the mid-forties (F*) and almost all my snow is gone πŸ˜•. Bummed to see it go but such are the seasons of life. On the plus side, there are a fresh batch of wild baby bunnies in my backyard, soooo…. 😁 that makes me ecstatic.

    1. Hey Tara! Don’t worry, I’m a big fan of Christian metal, there’s a playlist on Spotify I listen to fairly regularly. I actually used to be in a metal band too πŸ™‚

It’s strange for me to think that you still have some snow! The baby bunnies sound cool πŸ™‚

Will check out those songs! πŸ™‚

  2. The Black Keys, Nada Surf, etc. πŸ™‚ That’s nice of you to open up for prayer requests. πŸ™‚

I am visiting Vermont now and the snow is finally melting and we are having a second spring day.

  3. I fear this polar vortex is going to be cycling our hot and cold days too numerously for many to enjoy Steven.
We’ll have a 50’s, a 60’s and today’s 70’s…but soon winter will crash upon us again, as last week it snowed on Tuesday.
I have a spiritual set I must play every Sunday before I can get into the rock-n-roll I so greatly love.
It starts with Blind Faith’s Presence of the Lord, and Had to Cry Today, Can’t find my way Home, and Well Alright (which is a copy of Buddy Holly’s song). If moved to, I will continue with Sea of Joy, but usually I’m allowed to crank up the BOC or AC/DC once completing what the Spirit requires of me. Have a good week and are we waiting for song #8? I have forgotten.

  4. Abba, I Belong to You! We finally hit just over 60 (F) degrees here today; I celebrated by picking stones off our grass in my sweatshirt instead of winter jacket today! I give thanks for each day, no matter what; this IS the day that the Lord has made and I CHOOSE to rejoice and be glad in it daily!

  5. As always, there is a lot to think about with your posts. The thing that caught my eye on this one, however, was the fact that you pray for all those involved with your blog. It was convicting to me to go beyond cursory prayer when I blog, and to be more intentional about asking God’s Spirit to truly interact and bless the lives of those who read my blog.
